Our Location

Choosing to build Rock Beach in White Rock, BC was a very easy decision for Doug Johnson (no, not of Loverboy fame) to make. There are excellent restaurants, theatres, shops and galleries of all sorts. On your day off, or if for some reason you're not required in the studio for a few hours, you can stroll along beaches or through the local forests, wind surf, kayak, sail, jet ski, fish, golf, play tennis, paint ball, horseback ride, golf some more, pretty much year round, all within just a few blocks of the studio. The air is always fresh and clean here and White Rock boasts the most temperate year round climate on the Canadian West Coast. Vancouver is only 28 minutes away. Whistler Mountain is less than 2 hours away and the US border is just a stones throw away. White Rock truly is a great destination and when you choose Rock Beach to record your next project, we can set you up with just about any type of accommodations you desire.

Our Approach

The paramount focus during the facility's design and construction was to ensure that "The Music Makers" were offered an efficient and stimulating world class facility in which to create their magic. Rock Beach is dedicated to the fine art of recording and mixing music and strives to inspire the Musician and the entire Production Team through the latest technology, aesthetics and positive attitude. Concept and design of Rock Beach credits go to owner Doug Johnson and recording engineer David Hayes while John Vrtacic applied his genius to the technical details. Rafael Daudet and Cory Dixon were occasionally spotted under thousands of miles of Mogami cable while Doug and Rod Hazelwood's team of excellent craftsmen constructed Rock Beach with terrific precision.

The hope is that Rock Beach will consistently unleash exciting new levels of creativity..... from all those involved!

We are now offering tracking and mixing in 5.1 Surround. Call for details. 604-542-3055
